We have always had great service at K B BBQ. Waitress are friendly and prompt. Always get your order correct. The food is awesome. We usually get the catfish and it is hot and yummy. Hamburgers are wonderful as are the fries. My husband likes the mushrooms too. I have had their salad and it is huge..I cannot finish it and bring it home. Cant say enough good stuff about KB;s. The owners are there and make sure you are welcomed . Oh, and the pies...awesome. A great place to eat.

Wonderful attention and service, did not feel at all ignored, and received constant kind, and upbeat servers. this was then followed by some amazing food, both for main courses and sides. Would definitely recommend and return.

Southern Illinois is full of BBQ joints so it is often hard to pick between them. KB's sits just south of the fair grounds in Marion. It is a no frills BBQ shop. You have a choice of BBQ staples and sides along with some desserts including pies (I'm always a sucker for pie). The last time I ate at KB's I got the ribs with baked beans and hushpuppies. I enjoyed it quite a bit. The rest of my family got the shredded pork sandwiches. Between the two the ribs were better but both were enjoyed. The fries my nephew got were crinkle cut fries which I generally enjoy but these were a bit underwhelming. The only other real critique I had of the restaurant is that they don't have brisket which is my personal favorite. Overall this is a basic BBQ restaurant that is a staple in the area. It is good for a quick lunch if you are in the mood for sandwiches or ribs.

Tried this place based on other yelp reviews. I was a bit disappointed they didn't have any brisket or turkey. Since I don't eat pork and am not crazy about fish it limited the menu a bit. We ordered friend zucchini and mushrooms, which were a good choice. I got a chicken sandwich which was good. Also, their pie selection makes it totally worth it. They are all homemade!

We decided to try it based on the other reviews and it was the best decision we've made in a while! Laid back atmosphere with friendly staff. The portions surprised us, they are big. The cheese for the fries is real cheese. Great food and cheap. Big to-go cups! Family owned and operated! Clean bathrooms. Didn't get to try the amazing looking pies but we will next

This place gets 5 stars from me for the fried catfish. It's the best!!!! Plus the people are so friendly. I was raised in Marion until I was 9 and I love to come here when I visit. The corn fritters never seem to be done in the center and I would steer away from the pie but the catfish, oh the catfish!!!!

I had the BBQ sandwich basket: chopped pork with "chow" slaw. So yummy! I really enjoyed it with their Gold sauce, but also liked their hot sauce. I got to taste their fried okra, corn nuggets and coleslaw; all were delicious. I also heard the catfish is amazing from multiple people too. Our waitress was a real sweetheart and took great care of our large scattered group of about 12. We split our bill several ways with everyone all scattered across multiple tables, but our tickets were all correct and everyone enjoyed the food. None of us were from the area but several of us had visited several times in recent years and they keep coming back to KB. Now I know why and if I'm ever in Marion again... I'll be back too!
